Do you know what it takes to win? Two pros will share insights and lessons from their award-winning PR campaigns. Come hear the reasons and wisdom plus professional benefits for submitting campaigns to awards programs.

Gigi Westerman, APR of Strategic Image, Inc., along with Tarrant County Public Health won a 2011 Silver Spur Award for the campaign, “Live A More Colorful Life!” This was a grant funded educational campaign created by the Tarrant County Public Health department to help prevent obesity by promoting consumption of a wide and colorful array of fresh fruits and vegetables into a daily diet.

Mark Brinkerhoff from Moroch | PR won a 2011 Silver Spur Award Social Media/Networking Campaign for the Mockingbird Station "Summer Social," a campaign that illustrated how to activate—and monetize—an online community, offline.

Following the two presentations, the Greater Ft. Worth chapter of PRSA will have a special awards announcement.

Gigi Westerman started her career as a television producer and on-air reporter before transitioning into public relations, where she provided high-level communication strategies for leading healthcare and insurance companies. In 2001, Westerman founded Strategic Image, Inc, a marketing and public relations firm that provides a full range of communication solutions to businesses and nonprofit organizations. She has won two Silver Spurs and a Best of Texas from the Texas Public Relations Association, Platinum and Gold Hermes and MarCom creative awards, and awards from The Associated Pess, the International Television Association, The Telly Awards, and The Communicator.

Mark Brinkerhoff is a Public Relations Director at Moroch Partners, a full-service, integrated marketing solutions agency headquartered in North Texas. With nearly a decade of results-driven public relations and marketing experience, he helps to oversee and integrate the company’s PR functions, including in areas such as social media and digital content strategy. His areas of expertise include brand reputation and issues management; corporate social responsibility; cause marketing; social strategy and content management; opinion leader/influencer relations; and strategic partnerships. His work has been honored by the Texas Public Relations Association and other organizations, most recently as a PR News CSR Awards Finalist in the category of Cause Branding Campaign for the First Choice Power “Food First” hunger action program and million meals milestone.
